POUGHKEEPSIE – The Faith Christian Academy volleyball team continued its dominance in the Hudson Valley Athletic League (HVAL) with its second straight tournament title, beating Storm King in a sweep.
Scores were 25-14, 25-16 and 25-14.
The team, which has been together since middle school, has not lost a regular season game or tournament match since 2014. They finish this season 10-0.
Eshaa Munder had six kills and five aces to lead the way, Lydia Wasvary had three kills and nine service points, and Madison Mackin had 16 service points, five aces and was a terrific floor general throughout the contest.
“There have been a lot of hours of practice since last season, but mission accomplished,” said Mackin.
“This group of young athletes has been playing together since the sixth grade so they know each other, respect each other and push themselves to perform at the highest level every game,” FCA coach Christine Wasvary said. “I’m very proud of them.”
Cheyenne Mathis had six kills and seven service points and as a senior will be the only team member graduating next year.
