Volleyball roundup: John Jay sweeps Ketcham

 

 

Nicole Nardone had five kills, five blocks and two aces to lead the John Jay High School girls volleyball team in a 25-23, 25-21, 25-7 win over host Roy C. Ketcham in Wappingers Falls on Friday. Skylar Kellam added 13 digs and Emily Reiter had seven kills in the third set for the Patriots (5-5). Ketcham's Naraya Price had nine kills and three blocks, and Alexis Sabatelle had 13 assists and two aces.

Millbrook 3, Pine Plains 0 – Kayla Gusikoff had 22 assists and three aces as the visiting Blazers (7-1) beat the Bombers 25-21, 25-15, 25-15 late Thursday.

Haley Strang had seven digs and Bella Starzyk had seven kills for Pine Plains (3-4).

Marlboro 3, Red Hook 1 – Emily Beck had seven kills and seven digs as the host Iron Dukes beat the Raiders 25-23, 26-24, 22-25, 25-21 late Thursday.

Shannon Fitzpatrick had 24 digs for Red Hook and Morgan Corless had 22 assists and six digs.

Beacon 3, Somers 1 — Lauren Schetter had 22 digs, 14 kills and five aces to lead host Beacon in a 25-18, 26-24, 22-25, 25-23 win. Kajal Kohli added 16 kills, 15 digs and four aces for the Bulldogs (6-5).

Dover 3, Ellenville 1  Ariana Ball had 25 assists and four digs to lead visiting Dover in a 19-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-10 win. Calise Henry added 13 kills, six digs and two blocks.

Franklin D. Roosevelt 3, Saugerties 2 – Mychelle Sarles had 11 kills and four blocks as the host Presidents (3-3) beat the Sawyers 25-23, 20-25, 25-16, 25-27, 25-20 late Thursday.

Lourdes Dawson had 19 digs, three aces and eight kills for Roosevelt.

Faith Christian Academy 3, Oakwood Friends 1 — Eshaa Munder had 15 service points and six kills to lead FCA in a 25-16, 25-16, 17-25, 25-11 win. Lydia Wasvary added 15 service points and five kills for FCA (5-1).

Rondout Valley 3, New Paltz 2  Kelly Brinkman had 16 digs, 14 kills, five aces and three blocks for host New Paltz in a 25-18, 12-25, 17-25, 25-18, 25-21 loss. Lexi Klinger added 10 assists and three kills and Jordan Giancola had 16 digs for the Huguenots (3-5).

Spackenkill 3, Onteora 0 — Bailee Abalos had six aces, two kills and 10 consecutive serves in the third game to lead Spackenkill in a 25-7, 25-10, 25-4 win late Thursday. Tanysha Sanchez added three kills, an ace and a block.

Wallkill 3, Poughkeepsie 0 – Kayla West had two points and one kill for the host Pioneers, as Wallkill won 25-8, 25-4, 25-11 late Thursday.
